Portland, OR is located along the Willamette river. It is 187 miles long and is lying entirely in northwestern Oregon. Ten bridges span the Willamette River in or near Portland’s center. The world’s only telescoping double-deck vertical lift bridge (Steel), the world’s oldest lift bridge (Hawthorne), and America ‘s longest tied-arch bridge (Fremont) are all in Portland.
